Applied Physical Electronics, L.C. (APELC), a small business located in the hill country west of Austin, TX, provides research, product development, and manufacturing of compact pulsed power sources. The employees of APELC bring more than 50 years of combined experience in the field of pulsed power engineering and R&D, and provide service to clients including the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and universities.

Historically, APELC has specialized in the development of compact pulsed power sources based on the Marx circuit. More recently, APELC has moved toward the development of complete high power RF solutions to support the RF test & evaluation community, as well as those for customers seeking high power RF solutions to electronic controlled threats (i.e. high speed car chases, Improvised Explosive Devices).

To support this expansion, APELC continues to improve the performance of its family of Marx generators through better packaging, increased efficiency, and with the development of ancillary control modules and various load efforts.

In the last two years, APELC has grown into a 7,500 sq. ft. facility well equipped for the development of pulsed power and high powered RF systems. Our facility is CNC-equipped for moderate production levels, and we offer a variety of high speed diagnostic instrumentation for characterizing high voltage as well as transmission line systems.
