The APELC HRR-TU-18kV-500Hz is a robust, rack-mount unit designed for a variety of Marx based trigger applications. The HRR-TU is based on a thyratron pulse-forming circuit that is simple, reliable, and extremely fast. The trigger unit facilitates pulse charging of both the thyratron and any Marx generator. The pulse charging mode of operation minimizes high voltage DC degrading effects (e.g. corona) and provides a safer high voltage environment.

Additionally, the trigger unit provides LED indicators on the front panel for notification of thyratron conditions. Two key system diagnostics, Marx Analog Out and Thyratron Analog Out are available on the front panel of the trigger unit. These two waveforms can be easily monitored on any 1- MΩ oscilloscope channel by connecting to the BNC jacks on the front panel.
