MIL STD 464 & High-Power RF

RF Footlocker

Part Number: RFFL-400

Typically used to study electronic attack effects and electronic equipment vulnerabilities from a mobile platform, APELC’s RF Footlocker is also used for MIL-STD 464 testing and equipment survivability in scenarios with intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI).

APELC’s Footlocker high-power RF source transmits a wideband RF pulse with an electric-field amplitude over 150 kV/m @ 1m. The Footlocker uses a 400 MHz dipole antenna backed by a corner reflector, which is used to increase antenna directivity and to reduce the back-lobe radiated field.

Operated using a handheld fiber-optic remote control, users are able to select single-shot or automatic modes of operation. In automatic mode, the user selects a pulse repetition frequency between 0.1 and 10 Hz.

The system is powered by a removable and rechargeable commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) battery, and has a typical operation time of approximately 10 hours.

Disclaimer

The RF Footlocker should not be operated near computer-controlled machinery or unshielded electronic equipment unless the intention is to cause potentially irreversible damage. Safe operating principles should be followed when any user is in proximity of the system, and the high-voltage switch is on. This product is export-controlled and subject to ITAR or EAR regulations. A valid end-user statement is required for both foreign and domestic sales of this system.
